The leading multiplex chain PVR Cinemas, which had shown the IPL matches live on 18 screens last year, is also working on a game plan this year.
"Although there is clarity on the IPL which UFO Moviez has the rights to ten years to the screening theater, there is no clarity on the World Cup again," CEO Gautam Dutta PVR Cinemedia said. PVR CineMedia is a division multiplex company PVR Ltd, which handles all its advertising, marketing and branding tie-ups.
He said that the two tournaments, the World Cup is expected to generate more interest among people in the Indian team will play in a long time.
"If the team he brings to the critical matches in semi-finals and finals, then interest rates will certainly be very high," Dutta added.
However, another important Big Cinemas multiplex chain, owned by Reliance Media Works is tilted toward the IPL as the World Cup.
